Chord progression

Life feels like an unresolved chord progression. It’s like a song which just goes from F#m to G#m and then hangs there, letting the chord ring. But since it’s playing on a loop a lot of folks just got used to the way it sounds and they are just tapping their feet to it and saying “yeah, this is normal” and “this is kinda good actually” and some people are even of the mind that if you don’t like this chord progression maybe there’s something wrong with you. And others are saying “it’s the G#m which is the important chord!” while another faction screams just as loud that it’s the F#m which is the important chord because “that’s the key we are in, dummby”. And there are just a few of us over here screaming out “play something else! B minor, A, D, E, ANYTHING. PLEASE.” and the people who like the G#m chord look at us like we are crazy and the people who like the F#m chord say that we are the real problem “who would play an A chord? F#m is all we need. In fact we need more F#m.” And the dissonance rolls on an old train grinding against the tracks, it gets louder, nothing resolves, the train never ends, the song never stops. Or worse, depending on where you live the G#m is louder, almost deafening, or the F#m is the dominant chord and it’s just played constantly over the intercom at work, at the grocery store, while you walk in the woods, trying to claw just a tiny amount of your humanity back in a coffee shop on a date, you smile, she laughs, F#m plays loudly, G#m follows it up, and you feel like a husk.

  1. You’re playing with the devil’s interval now my friend. Save your soul. Come back to the light. From G#m, find your way back to B Major. Resolution is peace.

  2. A great short essay. A metaphor for depression and happiness, the mood swings we all go through.

Some of us however, have clinical conditions that go beyond the normal slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.

I spent years struggling until ai was diagnosed with clinical depression. I was relieved because I finally knew why I couldn’t be appropriately happy at even the most joyful occasions.

Both major and minor chord progressions are essential to life because they reflect the human condition.

I have many favorite chord progressions which I play for both love and money and won’t bore anyone with details but I’m happiest playing that which which is the deepest emotionally, and which can produce tears and laughter but not ambivalence.

  3. championship mettle is about winning the games you’re supposed to win. in a game when you take a 2-goal lead, champions win those games. if arsenal wanted to win the league, they needed to win last sunday…whether at anfield or in hell.

the real reason arsenal needed to win is they’re being chased down by an absolute machine. for you guys saying you believe city are going to drop points, based on what? man city are a machine, like a t-800 terminator…they only look human and they don’t stop. they’re like the fucking borg. they smacked them fc bayern bitches up like the prodigy. they are the best team in the world, full stop. i’m hopeful but i’m not wearing the same glasses as some of you guys are. arsenal bottled it when they dropped those points at anfield. if you’re up by two, you have to win that game.
