Not all people, heck not even most people, but some people suck and it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Aston Villa fans chanted some horrible stuff about Eduardo. We have this same stuff over here too. In some of the forums I haunt, the American supporters pride themselves on their knowledge of these kinds of sick chants. But there’s no need for this stuff. It doesn’t make you edgy or original to repeat the “Wenger is a paedophile” chant, it makes you the kind of person who thinks paedophilia is funny. I know, you cloak your buffoonery in a political statement; you’re railing against “political correctness” and all of it’s evils. But really? You just look like a classless, stupid, jerk.
Speaking of Eduardo, he’s not quite out of the woods yet. News of the World (a VERY reputable and classy publication) has the first picture of him after his release from the hospital. But note too in that story that he has two weeks before we know if there’s an infection and from what I’ve read an infection would be career threatening. So, finger’s crossed that he’ll be ok.
Finally, there’s some squawking from the AC Milan camp that they’ll be missing Kaka, Seedorf, Emerson, and probably everyone else on the team. Yeah… right. (note: they already”upgraded” Kaka to available). Meanwhile, Wenger’s calling for a repeat of the 5-1 defeat of Inter at the San Siro. I love the optimism! Who knows, maybe all those goals that have dried up from midfield will suddenly pour in! Maybe Adebayor will win a header and not scoop it over the bar (what’s going on with that?)! I’ll take a 1-1 draw, frankly.
