Rosicky reveals his injury and I watch Arshavin NOT get injured (knock on wood)

I did WHAT???
For my one non-American reader, this is a reminder to set your clocks to America time* tonight. For my American readers, this means that 3pm kickoffs in London now revert back to 7am kickoffs here in America. YAY.

For the rest of you, there is an Arsenal story today. It’s about Thomas Rosicky and his horrible injury. I guess he’s completely healed from the surgery to repair the damage from tearing some ligament completely off his knee. I’ve predicted many times that he will never play for Arsenal again and I would gladly be wrong.

He doesn’t just score goals, he scores amazing goals and Arsenal have missed that creativity at times this season. Here’s a video of what Arsenal have been missing with Thomas out:

But more than just great goals, I especially like that he’s talking about his passion for the game and how he’s burning to play again. Again, that’s a quality that the Arsenal have been lacking at times this season (Adebayor, we’re all looking at you) so getting him back full of piss and vinegar would be incredible important. Just having him push the kids in training would be important enough, but if he cracks back into the starting lineup and shows that passion on the pitch, that would be amazing.

Anyway, Gods speed goal-scoring-elf we need our #7 back.

Right, that’s it, I’m off to watch Arshavin destroy some little country and pray that he doesn’t get hurt.

*This is a joke, please don’t get your knickers in a twist over this and start talking about what a wanker I am for being an American. I’d be a wanker if I had been born in England too.

  1. I cant wait to see tomas again i have always loved the way he plays. Sidenote, I cant wait toill my foot heals and i can come and play again.

  2. That video just serves to remind me how much I prefer our traditional kit 🙂

Some lovely goals there; with the length of time he has been out, it’s easy to forget what Tomas offers to the team. That said, @anup has a point – Arshavin is our most similar player and a wonderful talent, so where does TR7 fit in?

  3. Fourstar, he’ll either force his way onto the team or Wenger will move him on. Similar problem up front with Vela, Arshavin, van Persie, Bendtner, and Adebayor. No matter what, I think some of our midfielders and strikers are leaving next year. Competition for spots is a good thing!

  4. @Tim: Agreed, but can’t help thinking AW had assessed the situation and was buying Arshavin to replace him in case he never came back. Nice problem to have; shame we don’t have it at DM and CB!

  5. Tim, as your non-American reader, I’d suggest you’d be even more of a wanker if born English. They’re big on wankerism over there. Love it to bits. Must be all the tea they drink. Not that I’m against wankers; I’m one myself and find it quite rewarding. Almost as good as the real thing.

Ade looked fit enough during Togo’s match. I wonder if Wenger will start playing him again once he returns? I can see Arshavin throwing the shits, running up and headbutting Adebayor in the groin if he gets offside of his incisive passing. What larks the Arsenal are going to have soon!

  6. By the way, does that mean to put it forward one hour, or back one hour? Daylight savings always throws me for two or three months. Worst thing in the world to wake up at 4 in the morning and realise you’ve missed the first sixty minutes of a match.

  7. Looks like he’s going to have to start playing Ade immediately. Bendtner went off with a knee injury (saw it on FSC). No idea how serious.

  8. Connolly, spring forward, fall back!

Yes, Ade scored, Andrei looked good, Rosicky is coming back, Cesc will be back, OMG I think I just jizzed in my pants.
