What's happening?

This is what it’s going to be like for the next two weeks: interviews with Arsenal players from their hometown newspapers, retarded proclamations by Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini, insane statements by Arsene Wenger, speculation about speculation that Cesc is leaving, and the whole of the Arsenal world praying that no Arsenal players pick up injuries playing in some pointless international friendly.

YAY

Back with more of this tomorrow.

  1. Togo is trying to annoy me by naming Ade to their squad. Of course, this was his opportunity to turn it down by saying, “I am not fit to play for my employer and it would be irresponsible for me to play for a national team that probably won’t qualify anyway.”

If there is any comfort in Theo’s latest injury, it is that he now will not be ground up in the U-21 match.

  2. The only reason we need ade fit is so that he can score a couple of goals and pretend he’s as good as last year so we can get a good price for him. At the moment I actually rate Bendtner higher than him in determination and chance creation. When his finishing improves to even 1 out of 3 he will be far better than ade because he wants it more.

I’m probably the only Arsenal fan that really doesn’t think he will mind if Cesc goes in the summer. I know, I know I’m crazy, but if Arsenal start playing the “everything through Cesc” thing, that failed us so miserably at the start of the season and arguably stunted the creative growth of the rest of our young attack force, then I won’t mind if he goes.

If Cesc can adapt to this group of players, the way they are playing now and add his talents then we’ll be unstoppable.

  3. Tim, you realise you’ve a big picture of Terry on your blog? That’s hideous. And we’re gonna make JT cry again in the FA Cup.

Bongo, that’s crazy talk. We need Cesc because he’s a great player, and great players make great teams. Imagine him, Arshavin and Nasri in the one side, with balls-of-steel Denilson backing them up. Amazing.

  4. And I quite support international friendlies. It’s a chance for locals to see their players in the flesh. It’s probably different in the US, but in Australia, the only time we get to see Kewell, Viduka, Bresciano and Cahill is during the meaningless friendlies (which are often held in London). Locals need to see their players, otherwise we don’t know who we’re supposed to support.

  5. What the hell am i supposed to do for two weeks. I can even get out to play due to injury (although I may be fit for an international friendly) I could watch the sounders if their style of direct long ball play didnt make me want to vomit. Sigh. Hopefully everyone comes back healthy

  6. Conolly, you’re not supposed to support Viduka and Kewell, they’re the cunts that scored for Leeds to give the 2003 title to Man U. It’s one of my most hated memories and they are two of my most hated players.
