Pat loved talking to me about Arsenal. He would even sing (as I always do) “one-nil to the Arsenal” whenever I told him that Arsenal won one-nil. Pat loved hearing about my trips to London: he loved the photographs, the drunken stories, the Arsenal match.
I don’t think he liked Arsenal but that’s just the kind of guy he was. He always wanted to hear your stories. He was one of those rare people who truly cared about what was going on in your life and always had a kind word or a funny story to brighten your day.
