There was a time, not too long ago, when other bloggers were calling Stan Kroenke “Satan Kranky” and other such “funny” little nicknames. What a difference a year makes!
The Arsenal board have decided to offer ole Satan a role on the board, and, it’s being reported, a chance to join in the board’s lock down agreement. If he joins the lock down agreement then he would be eligible to buy shares from other members and this could be a back door way of allowing Stan to become the next majority owner of the club.
I’m OK with all of that. First, Stan’s record with sports clubs here in America is pretty impressive. Second, he’s a businessman, which means he treats his clubs like businesses and not like a personal piggy bank or money laundering scheme. Third, his interest in the club has never waned and, in fact, he’s helped build other parts of the business. He’s the one who bought Arsenal TV and I have to say that it’s looking more and more enticing. So, I think Old Crow would be good for the club. And if he’s not, I’m sure we’ll see Arsenal’s xenophobic fans sporting signs like “YANKEES GO HOME” and “SATAN IS NOT WANTED IN MY HOUSE BECAUSE HE’S AMERICAN AND AMERICA SUCKS!” Is there a British term for redkneck?
Meanwhile, the Adebayor story is still kicking around. And now it’s being reported to us via Setanta, who got the story from Sport, that Adebayor is being non-committal. My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with the girl who saw Hleb and Adebayor meet with Barcelona at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it’s pretty serious.
I would suggest that this is just Adebayor leaning on Barca in order to get a better contract from Arsenal.

The dot com has revealed that Clichy has signed a long term deal with Arsenal. That’s gonna make it difficult for Roma to prise him away and add him to their revolutionary “two left backs” system.
